Artistic Prodigy: Sims don't play with task long enough to fulfill task

Trying to complete Artistic Prodigy (Daydreamer) Child Aspiration, but the Child Sim plays with the toy for a few seconds and then returns the toy to talk to another Sim. I tried it a second time, and the Sim did the same thing.

First time the other Sim, who was a Nanny Sim hired to look after a newborn Sim was on the other side of the house when the Child Sim ran over to talk to the Nanny rather than continue playing with the toy. The second time they were in the same room, which shouldn't have stopped the child from playing with the toy.

I bought a variety of toys for the Sim to play with the 3 toys required for the Aspiration. But just like the toys from the toybox, the Child would take out the toy I clicked on in the Inventory, play with it for a few seconds, and then put away the toy into the toybox and start talking to the Nanny again.

It was too short a time for it to count for the 3 toys played requirement.

  • I am playing on a PC (no mods), and it seems that however long my Sim child plays with a toy, the aspiration still won't compete. It stays at 0/3 and I can't get to the next aspiration level.

  • Been having this issue for a while. If I queue up multiple playing it sometimes does check off, but never if it's just the one interaction.

Playing with the imaginary friend dolls [AA] doesn't appear to count either, but I can't tell if that's just to do with this bug or a separate issue.

    Mac, no mods.

  • I have the same Problem, even if the kid plays for longer than a second it doesn't check of as playing with toys in the aspiration. It's affecting the event as well since it won't check of any playing with toy's interaction. Also on PC, no mods installed. I have seasons, cottage living, jungle adventure and all the stuff packs and kits that has been/are free.
