Being slave to your small business

Hey guys, I wonder if a certain thing is working properly. When a Sim owns a small business ("Businesses and Hobbies") or an old style store ("Get to Work"), after leaving the lot the store or business automatically closes. The same thing happens when any family member leaves the lot. Even if the store or business has employees working at the time. In the case of a restaurant or a veterinary clinic there is no such problem, the owner can go home or anywhere else, and the employees take care of the business. So when you own a small business, the whole family becomes its slave, because they can't go anywhere without closing it immediately. Does this happen to you too?
