Business Panel Doesn't Show Owned Businesses

Hi, I don't have mods or cc installed. I used to but I removed all of them. However whenever I change families or exit the game and come back the small business doesn't show up, I can't open it or do anything related. I found a work around that used to work which was to transfer the business to my other sims and then I could work on it but then id have to rehire and do all those extra steps. I am confused as to why this is happening. I have repaired the games a few times. It's really ruining my gameplay. Has anyone else had this issue? I am also almost never able to get a gold star when running courses. It's weird because I meet all the criteria and I do everything but after completing bronze level it stops updating.
