I was able to complete all tasks associated with the quests. I was able to claim the "big" rewards for the week although the hair doesn't seem to show up in CAS. I can purchase and use the record player. I have successfully used the lot trait. I finished both quests and after attempting to claim the final three "small" rewards for the week the event window malfunctions.
The icon is greyed out on the top left of the UI. Mousing over it triggers the "gnomes have to fix it" filter. Clicking it causes the game to freeze. When Grim's invitation window pops up the same things happen; gnome filter and a freeze. I cannot view my progress or the future rewards I will be working towards. I cannot click anywhere on the UI. I cannot back out to the main game menu. I have to forcefully end the process.
I backed everything up, removed mods, ran the repair utility a couple times; No Dice.
By complete coincidence my littlest cat decided to sleep against the cable modem Friday night (so warm) and knocked it onto the floor. Consequently, for most of the weekend I had exactly zero connectivity. During that time the game event window and icon function normally although claiming the items is still impossible because I need to be logged in. (no harm, no foul, perfectly reasonable, not mad)
The modem is fixed.
The game is once again broken.
