Can't go to school or work with my sims!

what happens exactly ? Do you not have the button to send them to work or do they simply not go ?

Could you please test another household to see if it's the same issue with them.

That particular issues seems to have something to do with the career/degree for the Sims. Did your Sim go to  Uni ? Did you try switching jobs ? Which career is the dad in ?

With the new pack the autonomy of sims in the household seems really out of wack. 
My child sim will not go to school. certainly if you switch sims for a bit. The action just cancels. In the end the school calls and even then they won't go. 
Now it happened that the sim is set to be at school by the game, while he is still standing in the room. But the school icon is yellow, indicating that he is late. When I click on it, I get a pop up if I want to cancel him AT school and send him home. 
While he is still at home. It's a mess. 
As soon as a small business is open it disrupts all the autonomy and actions of everyone in the household. 
I also had this with another sim who I tried repeatedly to send to grief counseling. Anything not business related is very hard to do for other sims in the household. 
But the school thing is probably the most annoying. 
In one case I had to travel to another lot and then send him to school. Else he just won't leave. 
I'm not using any mods or CC. 
They were already removed, cache emptied and the game was repaired because of other bugs. I have all packs, save a few kits. 

This is happening with the businesses and hobbies pack, certainly when the business is open my others sims won't do what I want them to do. Leaving the lot seems to be stopped by the game. Sims won't go to work or school, they just stand there. After clicking go to school/work a few times and them starting and stopping each time, eventually it turns red and the button doesn't react anymore at all. Only traveling to another lot solves the issue.

Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Uploading the file is meant for troubleshooting.

I've been having this issue as well. If a sim already has a owned business ( B&H) or one in their household the game can't cope. It wants to keep sims on the lot. Sims won't go to work or school. They start and stop until the icon turns red and doesn't react at all anymore. 
One of the sims also has a job as a criminal, and when they made a promotion it also gave me a pop up about her being promoted at her small business. Which she is the only person employed at. 
There's 3 small businesses on this lot ( as advertised it shouldn't be an issue) and 5 sims.  One is a child and he can't go to school. 2 are on 1 business, the other 2 also have a business. The mom also has the side job, which she can't go to. Unless you leave the lot. Certainly when the small business is open all the sims on the lot will want to do the customer actions. You don't have this with the retail lot of Get to Work btw.  If I start them on other activities they nearly always cancel midway. It's incredibly annoying.

This is the pop-up. so weird. And yes I don't get the go to work/school pop up either. 

Also now she is home, while still being at 'work' too, so I can't control her. The shift ended at 4 AM, and it's later now. What a mess. No mods or CC. 

DarkSimzzz Moved all your posts over to this thread as the other one is related to a specific LE. Yours sounds different than that.

Could you check if you also get an LE ?

I found that certainly 1 thing seems to be the problem in my case. It's the fact that you can only have one Front Door. The game suggests you can have multiple houses and multiple shops on your lot and easy peasy. But when sims go to work/school it seems that the game wants to route them through the front door first before they can go in their rabbit hole. Even if they are already outside. 
So if that door is locked or the small business is open, it somehow screws with that and they'll just be stuck. 
And yes this seems a little different as hers because it's not an active career. I'll test that too.
