I'm having trouble going to school with my kids and going to work with the adults. I don't know what to do. It's been working for a whole but stopped out of nowhere. How can I fix this problem?

I found that certainly 1 thing seems to be the problem in my case. It's the fact that you can only have one Front Door. The game suggests you can have multiple houses and multiple shops on your lot and easy peasy. But when sims go to work/school it seems that the game wants to route them through the front door first before they can go in their rabbit hole. Even if they are already outside.
So if that door is locked or the small business is open, it somehow screws with that and they'll just be stuck.
And yes this seems a little different as hers because it's not an active career. I'll test that too.

the issue with Sims not showing at work while they are is a known problem: Sims don't disappear in rabbithole when going to work/school | EA Forums - 4997286
They usually just stand there outside though.
The promotions are all rather odd.
Did you get a chance to check for lastExceptions after you sent them to work ?
