Same here, coming from a modder who makes plants..... it makes me wanna cry lol. Another workaround for this issue is using Ravasheen's No Fig Deal mod, its watering function still works on the bigger planters and dirt patches. If it didn't I would have a lot of dying plants in my game right now in my big greenhouse.
