When i click adopt the sim just picks uo the dog and puts it down, ive tried on different worlds, loaded games, and new games, different houses etc. so it dosent seem to be a mods issue, this started...

I've also been having this issue, on PC. I had to force adoption using shift + clicking on dog > join family. I've just started having this issue. Maybe its been an issue for a couple days (just got a puppy for my sim) and picking up the puppy was fine. That is until I have to bathe it. My sim will freeze and put it back down.
I've tried this for other house holds and it does the same.
I've removed my mods folder entirely to see if that was the issue. But no, it does it even without mods. I've deleted the localthumbnail.cache fine and pictures from onlinethumbnail.cache, and the issue wasn't resolved with that either. I've done the "reset debug" a couple of times on both my sim and puppy. Nothing. Finally, I've gone to repair my game, still no fix.
