[CD] [GTW] Retail worker/vets don't spawn for business as customer/Can't buy

Yeah, let me clarify then. I bought the Cats and Dogs pack and the Get To Work pack at the same time, roughly 1 day after the burglars patch (Businesses and Hobbies prepatch). The NPC-owned default retail stores and vet clinics present in the game were not working, with no NPCs spawning, none at all. Not even random bystanders walking past the streets, it was just my Sim.

After the patch mentioned in my previous post, the vet clinics and retails stores became functional again.

This appears to be a separate bug triggered by the burglars patch, but resulting in similar outcomes. I did not test player owned stores nor clinics so I cannot comment on them working or not, being fixed or not. Plus you are a living proof of this other bug not being fixed with the hotfix post-burglars.

This is why this thread has blown up with so many replies right after the burglars patch.
This bug related to the patch has also been fixed for me. I came to inform about this because of this new bug being lumped together with the rest of this thread's bugs. New reports in separate threads of this burglars patch bug were being closed as duplicates of this one.

Fwiw, I am not experiencing your bug, but I don't know if I experienced it before the hotfix or not. Apologies, I wish I could be of more help here.

Oh interesting, my OWNED retails do not work yet, they are owned by my Sim (not the active Sim in the moment of visiting) and they don't spawn workers and don't let me buy the items. I tried it without mods too, and can't buy anything in there that is for sale (except the mannequins).

Update:

I re-tested without mods again, and in my game the OWNED retails and vets still don't spawn workers, and the retails don't make that open-for-retail sound. Even when I check-in my dog in the vet, noone appears. Tapping on items for sale in retails shows the selling sign but doesn't allow a buy action.

I can confirm I play tested a lot  last night with all the things we discussed to see how I could help you all figure this out especially after seeing folks posting that it had corrected it self.

All my retails are working properly as they should.. including..

1. You can purchase things as a visiting sim
2. Employees show up
3. It doesn't matter if they are owned or 'NPC owned' ... they all work

To keep things separate I'll post details in the other thread but the "business panel glitch" seems to be gone when adding a new retail. I play tested it over and over to see if I could recreate it. My one household didn't loose it's data on owning the business but their other business still shows as unowned in the panel, but in map view still shows as it's their business.

additionally my Sims who owned Residential Rentals and it didn't show in panel before, do show up. Just not previous retails. Restaurants still acting weird if they are owned. I'll give further updates in the other thread... since this actual issue with retail clinics seems resolved....

I believe the fix was removing the unit boundaries. I could be wrong, but that seems likely to my scientific little out of practice brain.

I'm coming back here to report that even though it was not mentioned in the patch, in my game too suddenly the retails can sell items again!! 🎉🎉🎉 I'm soooo happy!!! Thank you so much for fixing it in the background, I think this would have been worth officially calling out, as many players were waiting for this 🙏

Clarifying:
It this is the new bug for UNOWNED retails (which started with the first businesses and hobbies patch) that is fixed now. 🎉
My OWNED retails still don't spawn workers and don't let me buy anything there, which is the bug we had for a while already, that one is not fixed.

I checked today and retail stores did spawn employees and I was able to buy from them. I was pleasantly surprised because there was nothing about it in the patch notes but maybe they quietly fixed it in the pre-pack e-patch today.

I'm so glad the patch on 3/6/25 fixed Cats & Dogs with NPCs at vet lots and thank you! Don't have Get to Work so not sure on retail lots, but if not fixed, I'm sorry. We all want the game to work as it should.

I have a retail store owned by a played sim. Other sims visiting the lot can’t buy anything there. This has been a problem for a long time. I checked after yesterday’s update and it’s still not fixed. 

Is this the right thread, given the store with the issue is owned by one of my sims.

I play on a Mac, no mods.
