I have looked into the "Musical Genius" aspiration. In order to test out this feature I stuck a 5 Sisters consisting of a Vampire, Werewolf, Fairy, Alien, and Normal Sim in the Old Salt House of the Spice District. It was a brand-new save file with default settings and free will turned off.
In the Musical Genius Aspiration, the 3rd set of tasks is to Get level 6 in an instrument, Write 4 Songs, and Make 500 from Licensed Songs. While getting level 6 was an easy thing to do the others where a pain in the neck. Write Song / Book / Lyrics Loses Progress | EA Forums - 4973703 is still in play some of the time so it made the act of writing a song harder no matter if it counted for the aspiration or not.
My Sims Wrote songs on:
- Vampire - 4 singing, 1 portable keyboard, 3 Pipe organ
- Normal Sim -3 Singing, 1 DJ Mix
- Werewolf - 2 Singing, 2 Portable Keyboard
- Fairy -4 Singing, 4 Portable Keyboard
- Alien -3 singing, 2 Portable Keyboard
What I found is this. Lyrics composed with the Singing skill do not count towards the Write 4 Songs or Make 500 from Licensed Songs. Mixing up a track With a DJ booth does count towards both of the aspirations requirements. The "DigiRAD Keyboard" does count towards both of the aspirations requirements. The Pipe Organ does count towards both of the aspirations requirements. I'm thinking that being an occult has no bearing on the aspirations progress from a bug's point of view.
