every time i’m finished typing in a cheat the bar to type it in gets stuck so i can’t click on or do anything else and i have to close the game (i’m on ps5 and haven’t seen any other reports on it)

Same, ps5, can't do anything with controller but can close it with esc spam on a keyboard.
I didn't think about attaching a keyboard to my PS4. I might have to. This just started a couple nights ago for me, and it's crazy.
