[CONSOLE] Cheats menu getting stuck

It’s January 2026 and this is still happening. No fix but to go to manage worlds or quit the game entirely; both options being pretty annoying to have to do over and over again. It’s actually tragic, as it makes the game **bleep** near unplayable as I use cheats like constantly. Honestly I wish they just made the cheat system easier to use, like give it an overhaul or incorporate that popular cheat menu mod into base game like they did with the bathroom/kitchen sink setting.

You can upvote it on the first post if you'd like to do so. Hopefully it will be addressed at some point. It happens to me mostly in households with toddlers and infants. 

I had that happen to me once yesterday on PS5. I had couldn't even get to manage worlds. I had to force close the game. Luckily I had just saved, but I closed out the game completely and waited a few minutes before starting it again. After that, my chat bar still didn't work properly, it didn't show what I was typing, but it did work.

So any time I put a cheat in doesn't matter the kind my cheat bar freezes and the entire game gets stuck and I'm unable to get back to game play after. So I have to go to manage worlds just to get back out. I play on PS4.

every time i try to type in a cheat i can not exit out of the text bar. It will be green like usual and then turn white and i can’t exit or continue to play the game, it’s been happening for a couple of weeks and i was hoping updating the game would help but it didn’t it just keeps doing it and i have to either go to the main menu, manage worlds, or completely exit out of the game just to be able to play again.

dillweed200​ this is a bug which is currently under investigation. I'm finding it's happening in families with children, in particular toddler and infants. Here's the report if you'd like to upvote it on the first post

Could you please provide the following information

-  Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
-  What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox)

I can only enable cheats. But then if you try doing anything in the cheats screen it gets frozen. Only way around it is through manage worlds. It doesn't allow me to do any cheats at all.
