[CONSOLE] Unable to rotate roofs & stairs

I am experiencing this issue on Xbox Series X as well, same way as described below where it just switches to the tools instead of rotating. Game is up to date.

I just had February's latest update and now when I go into build mode to rotate a room with L1 anR1 buttons on my PS4 controller the cursor changes to a sledgehammer  icon instead. I have tried restarting my game, a new save file still nothing works. Did they change the controls or something because I have tried every button and still can't rotate rooms. I can use R1 and L1 on items and they rotate just the rooms I cant. What is going on?

I have the same problem…with stairs, even before the last update.

No guarantee it will work, but: Try copying the room and then rotating it. SOMETIMES that works for me with the stair rotation problem 🥲🤷‍♀️...(If you haven't already tried this)

I will definitely be trying the copy method out 😁 haven't been able to rotate stairs, roofs, and rooms for months now on PlayStation and even though I know it doesn't work I can't get rid of the muscle memory of pressing the triggers to rotate 😑

This did not work for me now my game keeps crashing too even on PS5.

It's February 2026 and I play on X Box. I can't rotate roofs or rooms. Nothing works! Please fix EA! You can't even build anything!
