I agree SheriSim . I almost never send my Sims to restaurants for dates, because everything just takes too long.
My preferred location is at home, where there's usually nobody else around to get jealous or butt into the conversation. I can always lock doors if there is someone around, to make sure there's enough privacy for a successful date. It's much easier to control what happens at home then it is at a community lot.
