Product: The Sims 4
Platform: Windows
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Latest
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a property owner living in one unit, and a tenant in the next. Problem arises, click on travel to unit. Work on problem, finish repairs and game says we didn't do anything. Or chose an expensive contractor and travel while contractor is "doing their thing" and game spits out nothing happened.
What happens when the bug occurs? After I fix the problem, I get a notification saying that I didn't do anything and as a result my rating went down, or it will say that the tenant fixed it on their own and as a result the rating went up, but it never acknowledges my input for fixing the issue.
What do you expect to see? The system generates a notification that I have resolved the issue in a timely manner and I get some sort of something. I honestly don't know what to expect because it has never worked properly so I've never experienced it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Not sure, haven't really played with For Rent much.
Please describe the patch or change you made.Same thing on my newly installed game. If I hire an expensive contractor and hold tight at my current location it usually finishes; if I leave early it will fail. If I travel to the lot to do it manually, I finish repairing and it says it didn't finish. I don't even remember how long this pack has been out but it's kind of long for a bug to still be around 😒.

I have the sims 4 on PC through the EA app. This bug is in the For Rent expansion pack. No CC or mods ever installed.
Everytime I go to fix a tenant event it says I have failed it and my rating goes down. If I send the expensive contractor then I have successfully dealt with the problem.

The most recent comment I can see is from 3 months ago. I'm getting this problem too, has it not yet been fixed? I play on Mac with mods.

Status is : need more info. What kind of info?? What can we tell you guys to help you fix it ?? I'm on a MackBook Pro, and the EA-app on a macOS Sequoia 15.3.2 ... Same issue as the others report: If my sim goes to the rental house and fixes the issue according to the instructions in the popup, it comes up that they didn't do a thing and the tennants are unhappy. I tried to sell the house and buy another one, that didn't change the issue. ??maybe it is about in what world you build the rentals? The very first house I had was a pre build in the "chinese" world, but some of the issues did not resolve right, but they were maybe my own fault. The next house was a download from the gallery, and placed it in (whats the name of the total empty) world. then issues only resolved if i called a expensive contractor from that point on. Also when I had a new house on a different plot.

I will add to this thread by reporting the same issue as the other people have described. With no offence but it is embarassing that a 5 month old plus bug is still present in the game, ruining the entire experience of a paid dlc. An entire 40 dollar dlc is unplayable and has been so for half a year. Absolute circus

totally agree with the comment above. the sims team really doesn't care about their game for bugs to sit around this long that make the pack unplayable. insane.

When I get a maintenance issue for one of my apartments and my sim goes to the property to fix the problem I get a notification that I failed to address the issue after completing the task and my rental property value went down instead of the notification for completing it.

I FOUND A WORKAROUND (bc clearly EA cant bother)
the way i got it working will let you resolve the maintenance event for the tenant successfully while positively impacting the unit rating. it sadly will not count towards the "handle a maintenance event" aspiration task, but as i understand you can actually just cheat your way through that.
- When there is a maintenance event that pops, click the impacted unit's door and "swap to household" (or swap control to the household through the world manager if you aren't living on the property with them).
- Once you're now controlling the tenant, use your phone to go to the "Home" tab, and select "Call the Property Owner to Visit" (which is really your sim). DO NOT use the option to call them over and switch to them. You want your property owner sim to come in like an NPC almost lol.
- Have the impacted unit tenant invite them in, and your property owner sim will do the repairs/whatever needs to be done, and it should give you a positive result and say the unit rating went up. I even got the little green house icon with a plus over both their heads.
- swap back to your sim you were originally playing with and voila :) the unit will be positively impacted! it doesn't always go up a star obviously because not every event increases an entire star, but the last time i did it i went from 3 to 4 starts so it def worked for me!
