alright, i found how you can prevent it from happening. if its already happened its too late, only option is to restore an older save. to prevent it from happening, if you turn a rental lot back into a another lot type ONLY turn it into a generic lot. this seems to erase all the rental data from it i guess and it won't give you the issue. don.t go from rental to residential or vacation or small business. only go from rental to generic. have the sims move out if you want to change the lot type
