Also experiencing this problem on PC. Several different packs, problem persists even when all mods are disabled.
Last played in August, converted a university dorm lot in Britechester into a residential rental. When I logged back in today, I was not able to open that save file at all - the active household was the Sims living in the RR in Britechester. Going back to previous versions of the same save file, I can load the game and enter any neighborhood except Britechester. When I try to access Britechester, the screen is white. I can't see or interact with the lots or households and I can't go back to Manage Worlds. My only option is to Quit to the Main Menu.
Since I can't open the version of the save file that had the RR lot active and the earlier saves don't have anyone in that lot, I can't fix the file in the way that others have, by entering the lot through MCCC and editing it there.

I was able to resolve the problem by disabling the For Rent pack, bulldozing the lot in question, and re-enabling For Rent. This means that all of the rental lots in my save file need to be edited to return to their original state - the details about units disappear when For Rent is turned off. I'm expecting that I might also be missing furniture or items from the pack but haven't gone in to lots deep enough yet to know for sure.
Through some early experimentation, it looks like reinstating any Rental Residential in Britechester (the world that was affected) breaks the world again. The white screen comes back. So far, it looks like I can create RR lots in other worlds. Obviously not ideal - I won't be able to have any RR in Britechester until this is resolved and I'm very cautious about how I save RR lots in other worlds now too.
