This has been happening to me too.
This is not only the sort by option but any time you use the search feature. When you search anything, or changes any sort by options, even when you do not use them - the nothing found will pop up. It is pretty consistent too. There is nothing that can be done until this is checked. Just have to keep going with one search at a time and slowly increase.
