[GTW] mannequin has out-of-stock sign on restocked outfits; sims won't buy

I'm running a retail lot, and am having an issue where mannequins display the "out of stock" sign on restocked outfits. Rather than switch out the outfit for free (as you normally can on a dressed mannequin) the mannequin will charge to change the outfit as if it's out of stock.

Around the same time as the mannequin issue started, teen-YA-Adult-Elder sims stopped buying anything from mannequins (including the mannequins that don't display the "out of stock" sign bug). Their retail progress bar maxes out and the sims just leave the lot.

Child sims/mannequins do not appear impacted so in the meantime I'll have to change the store to only kids' clothes.

Mac, all packs, never used mods in this save.

  • Can you easily duplicate this on a new save game or is this limited to that retail lot ?

Yes, I replicated this in a new save today - this is the JF&S Clothiers lot in Magnolia Promenade after exiting CAS for the child mannequin outfit. This is perhaps my second or third visit to this retail lot.

Edit: If a sim in your household buys the outfit on the glitched mannequin, the mannequin is now in underwear WITHOUT the sold out sign.

The purchased outfit also spawned with piercings that we don't have access to in the mannequin CAS, which the sim didn't have in her original outfit of that category.

I just found a workaround that seems to (temporarily) un-glitch the mannequin: rather than "restock" or "dress mannequin", use "create random outfit" then dress mannequin will work.

The bug also appears on child mannequins.
