Infants leave the lot when an a child, teen or adult leaves the lot, even if there is a nanny, adult, or teen that remains in the household. This occurs whether there are multiple infants or just one infant. When there are multiple infants on the lot, at least one infant will be found away from the lot.
UPDATE: 2025 Oct 13 - This bug seems to reappear whenever there's an active event. During the current event infants only spawn away from the home if other Sim household members are in the home. If all Sims leave the lot infants go to daycare and spawn back in the home when Sims return. If a teen or older is on the lot with an infant and any Sim leaves the lot the infant will spawn far away from the lot when the active Sim returns. Playing base-game without mods. DLC: Get Together, Get Famous, Snowy Escape, Dine Out, Romantic Garden, Toddler, & Holiday.
