That's because it's not a mod-generated problem. I did the same thing when it popped into my game. I removed my entire Mods folder. Didn't fix a thing. Let me ask this, were your Sims a couple as teens? If so, there is a workaround, for now, that should fix your problem. If you use MCCC it will go faster. You need to remove their relationship, entirely. Then use either cheats or MCCC to reestablish it. If they are married, clear the marriage, then take the couple into cas.fulleditmode and make them spouses again. Voila problem should be solved. I know it worked in my game. Best of luck.
