Packs showing as deactivated in-game/Not active after purchase

I downloaded the For Rent pack and in my game files it says the pack is there but in CAS and in build mode etc it says I don't own it, I have repaired sims and the EA app but the issue is still not fixed. Thanks

Workaround

  • Make sure the game is closed
  • Create a backup of your user folder
  • Move the following file to the desktop: Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > userSettings(.ini)
  • Start the game again and check if the pack no appears.
  • Start your save and check if everything else is in order
  • Delete the file you moved to the desktop and enjoy the new pack.

Be aware that this will reset all your disabled packs so if you have any disabled, you can also enable/disable packs in Marketplace > My Collection > Pack Selection

Instructions to activate your packs manually

  1. Go to the MainMenu
  2. Go to Marketplace
  3. Click on My Collection
  4. Click on Pack Selection
  5. Click 'Select All' (you'll need to do this for each category to be sure all is installed) or find the pack and click on the checkmark to activate it.
  6. Click Confirm
  7. To deselect packs you don't want, remove the check-mark and hit confirm again

    I bought the city living pack and every time I go to the worlds map it show up as "finish downloading", but I already finished downloading it.

    I am currently having the same problem as you I got on this morning and when I went to my worlds half of them are missing I did all the steps I am getting irriatated

    I had to uninstall my full sims 4 game after the 3/17/2026 update then when I reinstalled base game plus some packs and kits it showed that it did but once I got in game only thing that showed was base game! I repaired game, cleared the cache & even uninstalled/reinstalled 3 times more times...plus deleted the EA app and reinstalled that just in case...everything in the ea app says it downloads fine and in the sims 4 pack file has the packs...so idk what to do?

    Hi,

    I downloaded sims 4 yesterday and bought life & death, seasons, cats and dogs, realm of magic and perfect patio. I downloaded these to the game last night and everything was fine. 

    this morning I have gone to download city living which I bought last night too and it downloads then when I go in game it says world not installed. 
    I have tried everything to try fix it, I have uninstalled the pack and redownloaded it, cleared cache, I’ve also repaired the game on the EA app. I don’t know if this is part of the ongoing problems after the update yesterday. I also use a few mods

    I hope someone can help :)
