mehphy Oh so the saving is the issue? That would explain why when I played in my save directly after the patch had been installed yesterday everything was fine, but when I played the same save today (after saving and quitting yesterday) everything is now black! Guess I won't be touching any saves now that were last saved before the patch, because when I save and next load into them they'll be broken too 😭😭
(Thanks for clarifying re the title btw, I wonder why they felt the need to change it!)
Can you load an old save file (where the photos are still untouched) and move all the photos that are on display somewhere into a Sim's personal inventory? And if you then save and reload, are they still fine (in the inventory)?
At least that way they would be preserved somewhere until EA fixes the issue, and you could continue playing with that save file.
And assuming that works, can you put those photos on display again and then save and reload without them turning black? That is, can the photos be "converted" somehow by that procedure?
(Make sure not to overwrite any of your old saves when doing this!)

AxelRogat Thanks, sadly I can't roll back/recover the one save I have played since the patch (to put the photos in personal inventories or save to a room to upload to my library) as I tend to do 'Save As' at the end of a play session and then delete the old save, likewise with a backup save I have.
As any photo fix EA releases don't work retroactively, sadly the photos in this one save that are black are now lost 😭 I'm gonna have to rethink my saving methods to ensure I always have saves that can roll back!

Oh no. I'm very sorry to hear that 🤨
That is similar to losing all your real life photos in a fire or due to a hard drive failure...
