I have a legacy save with over 20 generation long history in it! And now after 01/13 update all my photos are black! In all the sims houses, at cemetery(this hurts me especially) and in dynasty museum house! I don't have these sims around anymore, I can't take another picture of them and capture a moment of their life. Please let there be fix for pictures that was taken before update!
I am so sorry. I am in a similar situation. I just spent a huge amount of time building a mausoleum for generations of Sims. And had transferred photos to their respective crypts. All black. In some cases where I didn’t have photos, I had created paint by reference paintings of their home or some other object. Those have all turned white.
If you don't have an old save, unfortunately they are impossible to save. You can get them back only by uploading them on the gallery in a room. On walls!! Do not put them in a box because they turn black. The funeral portraits also hurt me the most.
Yes I now about the gallery and photos on walls, and my friend who is not going to update right now and seeing my situation actually helped me and took all of my lost photos room by room and shared with me in gallery - and I am so so grateful for that. And look what she did with funeral pictures- she just took photos of them and also shared as a room in gallery.
