Hello Sims Team,
On September the 29, 2025 I updated and played the Sims 4, for the 'The Sims 4 Forever Friends Event'. The issue I later found is that all my photos some from even 2013 have turned to a black screen (as seen in the images) I tried multiple ways to recover it like repairing the game ( as shown in the image ) , looking on forums etc.
Unfortunately, I am disappointed to find out that this has been a recurring issue that is flooded over the forum pages, redit pages, facebook, etc.
If this issue could be pleased looked into as the new 'Modern Photo Frame' from the new event continues to cause this issue! Even photos taken after the initial issue any put into the manage photo section are turning to a black screen. I have found this occurs way more often after the update and specifically with this item.
The photo feature is loved by the community as a whole but this lack of addressing the issue is only going to turn people away from using this feature and as a fan of the series who has participated in challenges, been with the game at launch and bought multiple DLC I would be dissappointed to not see this issue be addressed as it is clearly something that needs to be updated and improved around this feature which has been with simmers for a very long time!

Hi there, i do have the same issue. I had no problems but this new forever friends event modern photo frame broke my photos. Actually, i put several into the vertical one, all black now! I put ONLY 1 into the horizontal frame, and that is NOT broken. So, my guess is the pictures swapping is deleting them somehow? So sad that an event which is supposed to make your gameplay more fun has ruined my gameplay. My children are older now and i lost their pics growing up. And i did put a lot of time and effort into those. Now i don't even want to take photos of the other children anymore.
