Well I really hope this would be true and they communicated it wrongly, but that is not what they communicated, and there have already been fixes in the past that only applied to NEW SAVES. (In fact even in this newest laundry list there are 3 bugfixes that they have added the comment to, that they are only fixed in new saves. 😥)
I honestly have a very small hope that you are right. I'm a developer myself and know it doesn't need magic for a bug to be fixed in a way that only applies to new saves unfortunately..

Not sure what you're talking about. There are always fixes that cannot fix what's already broken, but there never were any that would apply to new saves only, and there will never be. I have ONE save in my game since 2014 (with backups, of course), so how do you think I'm playing it all these 10+ years? :D
IDK what you're developing, but clearly it has nothing to do with how this game works :)
