The larger issue is that their ability to actually test their own updates before releasing them to us is broken. If they could just get that fixed (I would suggest a big flashing neon sign that reads: "TEST UPDATE BEFORE RELEASING" hanging up somewhere prominently) then perhaps these rather obvious issues with their updates could be largely eliminated before release.
