Randomly won’t be able to overwrite save files or save my game at all

During a play session, at random intervals my game will decide not to be able to save, either overwriting the current save file or creating a new one. The game will just not perform the save function and then it will usually freeze on the options menu and I’ll have to force quit the game. I play on PS5 so no mods ever used.
