This has been a problem for years. I literally groaned out loud when I saw the live event call for collecting a crystal in Foundry Cove because I knew I had already dug them up. I took a sim I gave the curator aspiration recently to see if it was working correctly because I had avoided using it for years. I sent her to the area to meet a family and gave her the Always Welcome reward so she could even spend the night in the area. Nothing respawned. I did finally find an undug crystal rock behind the Willow Creek Library so I was able to complete the event task.
She then needed a fossil and since nothing collected in the Oasis Spring Park has respawned, even though I have a family living there, I took her to Britechester to fish behind Darby's Den. I spied a fossil rock, queued up dig and canceled the fishing action. When she was halfway to the rock it literally vanished from sight, causing the dig action to disappear and she turned back to Darby's Den. I've never run into that before.
I play on PC and have never used mods/cc.
