I am on a PS4 and I find the same thing happens to me with existing saves, I get much longer before the lag with new saves. I thought it was an issue with my PS4 but it doesn't happen with any other games.

On existing saves, game plays great for about an hour, then slowly starts to lag, it ends up with the Sims freezing, restart helps, but the lag usually starts up again after about 10 mins, I usually just stop playing because I would have to wait for about an hour before trying again!
