Severe lag after 1 hour of gameplay : requires restart

hi! this issue has been happening consistently, every time i open the game. when i first open the game, things are fine - running as they should, no interruptions or delays. but after a few seconds, the issue arises where my sims are taking soo long to complete queued tasks, they just stand there not doing anything for hours (sims time lol), and even the in-game menus/action buttons are lagging a lot, e.g. switching time speed takes multiple second to kick in, same with changing sim or trying to click on an interactive item. it's so frustrating as i am getting 0 gameplay atm. at first i thought it was wifi, but it's not. wonder if anyone else is having the same issue ?

i use minimal CC, a handful of cas items and even less build/buy stuff. help!! i miss playing my game

Had to start a new save because the lagging got so bad I couldn’t play my save  and after 2 months of playing, the same problem is happening. So it’s getting worst.

The lag is getting worse the more updates and packs get added. My game has been lagging and freezing worse. Have to keep restarting.

I have had the same or similar problem from last August 2025. I don't play more than a couple times a month. I thought it was mods. However I cleaned out the mods folder,  repaired my game, deleted localthumb cashe, you know the usual - started a total vanilla game and it is still happening. Making not want to play. I notice that it lags as others have stated, but it also does a speed to catch up (hard to explain, and haven't been able to catch it on video) every so often. I have my favorite saves just waiting to  get this fixed.  I was about to do a total reinstall.  Playing on Windows 11 

I have only had this issue since the Royalty expansion  pack was released. I do play with a lot of mods but until this pack I could play for hours in live mode no issues with lag except the fridge/computer menus. Now it is unplayable, even when I remove the mods and start a clean save, the constant freezing (task manager says not responding) and lag when moving the cameras is pretty unbearable.

Addition to this issue and I believe it’s related but sims can’t do the dishes. They pick up a dish and the game lags for so long that the dishes turn into ash, the sim never moving but ash piles surrounding them. I have to shift and right click to reset them. This happens after 2 months of playing a save file.
