[PS] Severe lagging while playing

Since updating to the new patch, I've been having weird game performance issues - freezes where I didn't have any before. This happens whether I play with mods or not (I'm on PC).

It originally seemed like the May 12th patch had big performance improvements, and then my game started freezing at least once per day. When my game is about to freeze, it starts out like what Anma998 is describing - things glitch out. Like, most recently, my active sim was playing chess with a NPC, and doing friendly socials with them, but the friendship bar wasn't moving even though the "plus" symbol kept appearing over their heads. A few minutes later the game froze. There were no last exceptions, and this happened after I did a nuke and reinstall of all my game files.

There doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to when it happens, or at least, not any kind of reliable trigger for it. I'll update this comment if I can find one.

Edit: still haven't found a cause, but I did discover that switching to a different lot as soon as I see the warning signs (audio vanishing, things like friendship/romance bars not doing anything, etc) is enough to avoid the freezing.

i have the same thing in mz game. I tryed to play in the new save file, but there is the same problem. I hope that it would be fix ASAP!! that"s imposible to play!!!

I have the exact same problem. Sometimes it can be fixed by going through Manage Worlds to have the Sims travel to another lot and then come back home. However, in one of my saves, as soon as the mother of a family of four arrives on the lot, everyone else on the lot freezes. I tried resetting the Sims multiple times, but only the mother could move; the other family members, including the butler, were all stuck in place. In the end, I had no choice but to use MC Command Center to kill off the mother (may she rest in peace) just to free everyone from that endless freeze.

Wedding at venue I've used several times before.  Bride walked down the aisle, then turned and walked up the aisle to freeze.  Reset object did nothing.  Tried reset several times and waited a little while.  Then I sent the other bride to interact with her, hoping that would help.  It did not.  Both brides froze.  Merged together strangely in a kiss.   Tried going into Build Mode and back.  No change.  I exited without saving the game.   
Outdoor wedding planned ahead but it started raining.  Chaotic.  Brides didn't want to stand in the rain on the aisle to say their vows.  Umbrellas opening & closing everywhere.  

I'm going to lock this for the moment until a Community Manager can take care of this.
