I don't know what happened but my sims suddenly started becoming really bright once entering the living room/kitchen area. My mods work fine and it seems that the problem only happens in the living room and kitchen area of the house, everywhere else they look normal. I don't have big windows in that area either so it isn't the outside light. I tried turning off the lights, changing graphics settings, repairing the game on origin account, and entering a testing cheat but nothing seems to help. I tried to find some way to contact the EA but for some reason I can't find any direct contact link or an email. EA forums is the only option they provide me with. I don't know how to fix this :(

The maker of the lot you downloaded probably placed lights upon lights. Go in build mode and delete some. That helped me. It was ridiculous how many lights they place!

Do you have the same issue without mods/cc ?
Unfortunately yes, I have the same issues without mods :( I recently noticed that if I remove a wall that is connected to the problem area the sims will look fine, however then all the furniture turns really bright. Also I tried moving the house to a different lot but that didn't work either. I'm thinking of trying to build a whole new house at this point see if that works :(
