I was having this issue for the longest, but finally decided to uninstall and reinstall. FIRST I googled how not to lose my builds (didn’t really have any families I was crazy about). So I backed up my builds and cc/mods, uninstalled/reinstalled, and now it works and I can finally complete the new event!

I’ve been having the same issue since the last update too ! No matter what I do, all the Sims on the lot (including townies) just freeze and do nothing, as the world go on. The only command that still works also is "Go Here". I’ve removed all my mods, tried repairing the game, reset the game and updated my drivers, but nothing worked! Even when I load an old save, the issue keeps happening after playing a bit. Moving to another lot does not help either.
The game is now unplayable...
Truly hope that EA stop bombing us with DLC and start fixing the game (and I'm not a grumpy player usually). - GoblinPrincess9515 days agoNew Spectator
My sims will not follow commands apart from "go here". I play with mods, however, I have taken ALL mods out and tried the "repair" option on the EA app. Still not working. This has happened since the update.
Anyone else having this issue?
My sims just stand there and then go off and do their own thing or it just completely cancels out the task all together as if they have completed it.

I've been having the same issue, and I've seen several other users report the same thing, but their fix will not work for me. For them, they uninstalled the laundry day expansion, but I don't own it. I have disabled and later deleted mods and CC completely, deleted my save files, created a new game folder, repaired the game, and deleted the thumbnail folders. Nothing works. I'm so frustrated.

Have you had any luck with fixing it otherwise?

It's been 3 months and I honestly have not touched the game since this update. I keep on updating my game with every patch hoping it'll magically fix the issue, but nope; it's still broken. I did some testing today and found out that my sims' needs will decay, however, will remain green while my sims is unaffected even though they should be starving.
So yes, the expansion pack STILL makes my game unplayable, and at this point I'm just pissed. Can't even repair it on the EA app cause the option simply does not appear. My last resort might be to reinstall the entire game, but it honestly scares me as i'm not sure it'll delete my save-files and progress.
Game works fine without the pack, but it really sucks I can't just get to play with the DLC I've paid money for.
EDIT: I reinstalled the game as well as my DLC from the EA app, and the game works now! I'm gonna run some more tests to make sure it also works when I enable mods, but I'm honestly so relieved this worked (it took 9,5 hours).

Problem:
Sim gets stuck, will not complete any action. Just stands there doing nothing with actions in queue.
Packs I have:
Too many to list. Almost all of them, barring high school, the infants one, the fairy one, and the home business one. I also have the laundry pack and the vacuuming one.
I'm on PC.
Fixes I have tried:
- Reset sim - this does nothing but clear the actions in their queue or move them 5 inches to the left. Putting a new action in their queue results in the same problem.
- Reset mailbox and other random things - does nothing.
- Exit to manage worlds, then back - this will reset the sim for one or a few actions, then they get stuck again.
- Change to a different family, then back - same as above.
- Enter CAS via cheat - same as above.
- Travel to another lot, then back - same as above.
- Move sim to another rental in residential rental - same as above.
More fixes I have tried:
- Removed all mods - This is what EA loves to tell you so they can handwave the bug reports. Does not fix problem.
- Return to an earlier save with all mods removed - problem returns in a few sim days
- Simulation Unclogger mod - nil effect.
- Have a townie sim purchase the residential rental my sim is living in - nil effect.
Even more fixes I have tried:
- Repair game - nil effect.
- Repair game with earlier save - after a few days, problem returns.
- Upload sim and residential rental they are living in to the gallery then delete game files and repair game - only effect was losing everything in their inventory.
- Uninstall and reinstall game, then download my sim and their residential rental from gallery - as above.
- All of the above with earlier save - just doesn't work.
- I'm sure I'm forgetting about 20 things I've tried.
I could start a whole new game or move to a different lot and see what bugs appear then, but I really don't care to. I spent days building the residential rental, then played this sim there for a while, and that's the game I'd like to play.

My sims freeze and won’t move when I tell them to do something, if they do what I told them too they do it on the spot but won’t move, I’ve used mods before but removed them and cleared the localthumbcache, I’ve searched online and a lot of people are having this problem but can’t find a solution, I haven't been able to play for awhile now. I’d really like this to be fixed.
