Sims are not moving/Freezing/Animation problems (after Patch 1.112)

Hey everyone, I’m really stressed and hoping someone can help me out. My game has been completely unplayable since the most recent Sims 4 update, and I’ve done just about everything I can think of to fix it.

💥 The Problem:

• When I assign my Sims to do something (like sleep or eat), they do the interaction while standing still.
• For example, I’ll tell a Sim to go to bed, and they’ll “sleep” standing up — not in the bed, just frozen in place doing the action.
• They also randomly start dancing, even when there’s no music or stereo.
• It’s not a mod issue — I completely emptied my Mods folder, including CC, scripts, furniture, and clothes.
• I even tested on a brand new save file with a brand new household. Still broken.

🧪 What I’ve Tried:

• Deleted localthumbcache.package
• Removed all mods and CC (folder is literally empty)
• Repaired the game through the EA App
• Cleared cache folders
• Removed custom lots, Sims, and old saves
• Tested in base game only — same problem

🧩 Additional Context:

• This started happening after the most recent Sims 4 update.
• Even with no mods or CC, my Sims still don’t move to perform interactions — they just do them in place like they’re broken.

🆘 Is This Happening to Anyone Else?

I’m trying to work on a story save, but it’s become impossible to play. I’m worried my entire game is corrupted beyond repair. At this point, I’m wondering:

• Is this a known bug from the recent update?
• Is this a problem with the EA App or manual installs?
• Do I need to fully uninstall the game and reinstall it clean?
• Any fixes that actually worked for anyone else?

I’d appreciate any advice. This is making me not even want to open the game anymore 😩

I merged your post with the main thread. I'm not sure if there's any solutions currently. 

Also, I'm still curious what people mean by 'Sims start dancing'. Could you post a video of that ?

Basically I'll tell him and do an interaction and then they'll Just Dance so I can have my Sim interact with another Sim and then those two Sims will just start dancing randomly like the little two step

Hi, since the new update, my sim has been unable to read a book or complete homework for university. 

I don't have any mods or CC, and tried restarting the game to no avail. 

The sim just stands there with the book in hand, rather than completing an action. The action bar never begins or completes unless deleted. 

Is this something other people are experiencing or could it be my laptop?

Do you have multiple Sims that have this issue or just this particular one ?

If you go to a library, do they also not do it ?

Everytime loading screen end, your sim will froze and cannot move for a few minutes and then it start moving again after few minutes. Even though game speed at 1x, sims will froze while the time still ticking. And it start working again after a minute or two. This is frustating because I need to wait a minute or two everytime after loading screen 😡

My vamp sim will just stand there doing nothing for hours if his needs are high. Won't activities he likes (painting, mischief), do laundry, clean, etc. Just stands there. It also happens when I'm not playing as him and invite him over to the house. He was real npc energy only speaks when spoken to otherwise just idles there indefinitely.

Could you please provide the following information

-  Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
-  What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox)
