Sims keep freezing

Hello! Here because I now have this issue as well :( I haven't played for months, but just downloaded For Rent and now I can't get anything done because my Sim constantly freezes. She'll make noises and sounds like she's doing an action, but is frozen in place and the action never completes. I'm on PC with zero mods and nothing seems to help stop the freezing :****(

I’m playing in Mt. Komorebi with one sim and six cats. Cats often randomly pause and get stuck even when there are no obstacles. Resetting sim usually works for the pets, but not for my sim itself, who will often freeze and not move, even after resetting. Seems completely random, no event triggering it in particular.

I feel like this might be businesses and hobbies. I removed that and Life & Death and havent had the issue so far. 

Update: Nevermind, after playing for an hour the issue indeed persists. It is mostly triggered by certain item usage or placing certain items in build mode. I hope this gets fixed soon, it is entirely frustrating. 

I've had this problem as well, especially with the pets. My sims will go to interact with a pet and they both will end up frozen. I have to reset my sim, and the pet to fix. This issue is definitely one of the more common ones. Happens at least once every sim day! 

Did you just take out the newer stuff or everything ? Mods/cc get outdated with patches and you need to test without ANY.

If you only removed the new stuff, please test your issue on a vanilla game

To verify on a vanilla game, move your mods folder to the desktop and delete the following files from your user folder.

-  localthumbcache
-  Any lastException Files
-  Any LastCrash files.

Test a backup of your save as you will loose all cc on the save and see if the same error occurs, then report back.

So when I'm playing the sims, my game will be fine and normal, but then out of no where, everything just stops letting me click on things or stop my sims activity, i cannot even reset the sim, however the background stuff is still working and i can more around, i can go into build mode, i can touch all the ui buttons, but everything else just stops. Can i get some help? 
Yes i use mods and cc, however this wasn't an issue with my recent stuff since as i took out the newer cc just in case but that didn't fix it. It started happening since i updated and added Businesses and Hobby expansion to my game. 

I updated my game on 4/29 and my sim is freezing constantly now.  I had this issue after a previous update and started a new game.  My new game is small with 3 played households and after the latest update my sims is just barely doing anything.  I saved and quit and reopened the game and he was doing the task I had assigned (practicing speech) but when I tried to get him to workout on a treadmill he just stood behind it doing nothing.  I reset him and he got on but the fitness skill went to level 8 and beyond to 115%.  I couldn't get him to stop using the treadmill so I reset him again and then the level 8 went back down to like 90% and now he just won't do anything.  I reset and he still just stands at the various workout equipment without doing anything.  I'm so tired of restarting my save because this game is just a broken mess. and then it's still a broken mess. 

EA/Maxis - you need to make a Sims 5.  This game is no longer viable.  But also fix it for people who want to continue playing it.  But you can't keep adding to this mess.  My computer sounds like its going to explode sometimes and playing is a just a disappointing disaster.

this just happened to me, i opened a market stall (or whatever it's called that comes with City Living) at first it was doing good but after a bit my game started to freeze, i wished i saved it up before opening a market stall

i do save things up but i do think the last save was from like 2 sims hours or so ago so i haven't thought about saving it up before opening a stall market

i have 1 mod but maybe i should remove them to see if it's working

I've had the same problem with the sim freezing and time continuing to run.

Example 1: I send my sim to a new lot and have them do something (like go here) and the action bubble will not drop to the bottom of the action queue. So, I pause the game, and it eventually will drop down (this take a few real time minutes) when it does I un-pause and they go right to it.

Example 2: I try to make my sim do something and the action bubble does drop down to the queue, but they just stand there (I've seen times where it's 10 or so sim minutes or more). In this case I just pause and un-pause right away and they go to it. For example, my sim picks up her cat to hug (action drops immediately down to the action queue, she picks it up but just stands there with the cat in her arms. I pause and un-pause and she hugs it. Then the put down cat comes up and she just stand there holding the cat, pause - un-pause she puts it down. Very annoying but it works to keep going on.

I'm playing the PC version, and I have everything they have released for this game.

This is really annoying and happens in every family. My poor sim tried to make garden salad and was stuck there cooking for hours. No mods, I'm on ps5. It all started after the last update.
