Sims standing around instead of taking care of infant/toddler

Everytime i try to take care of my infant or toddler it messes up. In one instance the sims will put the baby down then pick it back up and just stand there. They also will put the baby in the crib then immediately take them back out and place them on the floor. Sometimes they even just stand there even if im telling them to "feed the baby" they will just stand there and stare. It happens a lot when i try to give them a bath as well or when im trying to change them with the changing table. Im not sure what is causing this but it has been happening for a very long time. It makes the game less fun because i don't wanna play with just the adults. I want a baby but they get taken because my sims just stands there not doing anything or picking it up and putting it back down over and over again.

Whenever I play with infants, I end up having a very unpleasant experience because they're so problematic. When I ask my Sims to perform an action with infants, they not only stand there for hours, but they also repeatedly take the infants out of their cribs and put them on the floor. This bug is quite old and has never been fixed, and I've noticed that several players are experiencing the same issue!

my sims just take forever to do whatever I tell them to with the infants. By the time they get to do whatever task, they are being threatened with having the infant taken away. 

Experiencing this same bug in my saves.

Omg yesss. I will attempt to take care of an infant and in order to do so i have to force my sims to be busy so that they dont take the infant out of the bed until the infant falls asleep. There are so many bugs around infants. I HATE the infant stage so much. They do the same thing with the highchairs too. 

I love how the community is taking more initiative to get these bugs reported and seen by the team faster so they can get fixed in the next 8 weeks, just gotta keep reporting and upvoting 🙏

Almost had an infant in my legacy save get taken away due to starvation because between the three adults (two parents and a live in nanny) NONE of them would feed her. They kept picking her up, putting her down, putting her in the crib etc, but no one would feed her. For whatever reason i was able to break the loop by having my sim breastfeed instead of bottle feed and i saved her but that was close. This happened all night while i played, with diaper changes, feeding, baths etc. It took at least six tries each time to do any one thing and then the dang sim day is over.

I have experienced this as well. I have had to shift click and cheat needs to stop my infants being taken away. My best guess is that the adult Sims are waiting for the infant to finish an interaction e.g. cry, fuss, play with toy etc before starting their interactions. But when an infant is hungry or tired they will just queue up cry interactions over and over again and the adult Sims don't get a chance to interrupt it. What should happen is that any care interactions from an adult sim should override whatever the infant is doing.

I have found that to get sims to take care of infants I have to do some very weird things.

first they have to pick up the infant. if they dont perform that specific action they will ot take care of it.

after they pick up the infant is when I can tell them to do something eg: breastfeed.

before they do that they have to drop the infant and pick it back up. if I cancel that interaction they will not take care of the infant.

it is very annoying. I have mccc and cc installed.
