Sims standing around instead of taking care of infant/toddler

Whenever I play with infants, I end up having a very unpleasant experience because they're so problematic. When I ask my Sims to perform an action with infants, they not only stand there for hours, but they also repeatedly take the infants out of their cribs and put them on the floor. This bug is quite old and has never been fixed, and I've noticed that several players are experiencing the same issue!

• Sim keeps putting infant down before putting them in crib et al.

• Check baby interrupts all attempts to care for baby
• The game doesn't work properly when there is an infant in the household  (Performance)
