'System Error' when placing lot

Deleting all photos (including the blacked ones) and all paintings from my lot didn't solve the problem for me either.

I just had and fixed this in my game- when this error came up for me i went to my original build already placed in a save and loaded into it and then found and deleted any photos and custom paintings. i then saved that version to my library and was able to place it on other lots or in other saves just fine- it was the fact that it had those corrupted blacked out photos in it from EA's prior bug. 

I have found that i get this error when the lot i am placing has black photos(from the photo bug) and/or corrupt paint by reference painting. I have resolved by deleting all photographs and custom painting from the lot before saving the lot then placing in the new save i am making..  This is probably only one instance of this bug, but i hope it helps someone. crinrict​

I’m experiencing the same issue, there appears to be a "system error" and the build doesn’t appear.

When I try to place a building from gallery directly in some lots, after charging it just disappears. When I try to enter in the lot, it tells me that there has been a problem with the system or it tells me to place it somewhere in the lot but there is no building. Even after trying to repair the game, the situation is the same. 

Whenever I try to place a lot from my library I get a small red pop-up that says System Error.
