Also having this issue (25/11). My teen sims in my current save aged up with no pop to choose a trait. My save from June doesn’t have this problem, though. But if I create a new save right now, I do have the problem.
The only way I was able to fix this is by saving my sim to the gallery and then downloading them again to house. It's not a actual fix but it lets you continue with the sim at least. I just redid their appearances so I didnt have twins walking around lol. I hope that helps!
Noting, it looks like they've removed the trait so this is no longer an issue on my end with new sims 😊
