I’m playing The Sims 4 on Xbox Series X, and my game has become unplayable due to constant crashing. The problem started with the Willow Creek hospital lot (from Get to Work) — every time I tried to leave the hospital and travel home, the game would crash to the dashboard.
Now the issue has spread: my game crashes on load in general, even after deleting my saves. At this point, I can’t even play at all.
What I’ve Tried:
- Deleted save files
- Restarted Xbox
- Contacted EA Help (they gave me basic troubleshooting but no resolution)
I’ve spent thousands of dollars on packs, kits, and expansions for The Sims 4, and right now the game is completely unplayable on console. I feel like I paid for content I can’t even use. Console players don’t have mods or fixes like PC players do, which makes this situation especially frustrating.
Questions:
- Please confirm if this bug is being tracked.
- Are there any official workarounds for console players?
- Will there be a fix in an upcoming patch?
This issue makes The Sims 4 unplayable for me, and judging by community conversations, I’m not the only one. Please take this seriously for console players!
I'm on XB1 and prior to the 8/19 update, crashing wasn't common for me. Now it's constant. I often can't load the game on first attempt (usually takes 2-3 tries), which is too bad because my game lost the ability to "sleep" when the console does—instead of being able to "resume" after waking the console up, the game now fully quits every time the Xbox sleeps. Load times are brutal for me, so this is very unfortunate. The inability for the game to sleep and "resume" started after the 8/19 update.
