I have been playing The Sims for several years, and the developers have completely broken the game. The Sims 4 on PS5 has been crashing constantly, and I cannot even save my game anymore. It has been like this for months, and nothing has been fixed, while EA keeps releasing one DLC after another. I honestly feel robbed.
I own almost every DLC up to "Enchanted by Nature" and the game became severely broken right after the update released before that DLC. I cannot build houses, I cannot save, I cannot play. This is not normal, and at this point it feels like EA is scamming console players.
And no, this is NOT an issue with my PS5. While The Sims has been unplayable for months, I completed Assassin’s Creed: Shadows and its DLC, and I am currently playing Anno 117 without a single problem. Every other game works perfectly. What frustrates me even more is seeing PC players claiming that this is somehow the console’s fault - it is absolutely not. The developers broke the game months ago and have done nothing to fix it.
What also feels like a huge slap in the face is the amount of DLC EA has released during this time. There is money and time for new paid content, yet the console version of the game remains completely broken. My PlayStation keeps offering and recommending new DLC for a game that simply does not work. This is not normal - it feels like pure exploitation.
I am extremely frustrated. I contacted EA months ago on X, wrote to them on Facebook, and tried reporting the issue here as well. Eventually I gave up because nothing changed. It honestly feels like going through a breakup. I am not allowed to play my favourite game because it crashes every single time I try to save or travel.
I have 6,524 hours played in The Sims 4 and for what? It now feels like a complete waste of time and money. I literally cannot play the game at all, and there is nothing I can do about it.
I feel like EA has taken my money and left me with a broken product. After several months of the game being completely unplayable on consoles, this situation is beyond extreme. Console players clearly do not matter to EA. If PC players had this issue, it would have been fixed immediately. Most well-known YouTubers play on PC, so they are unaffected.
I have given up hope that EA will ever fix this.
At this point, what I want to know is: is there any way to receive at least a partial refund for the money I invested in The Sims? It is unacceptable that I spent so much money on DLC and the game is completely broken.
I am planning to contact Sony Support as well, because this is not normal and I should not be expected just to “accept” that I can no longer play a game I have over 6,524 hours in. From time to time, I check the forum hoping for a fix, but nothing ever changes. I tried playing the game again today - and of course, it crashed again.
It seems I will never be able to play The Sims again, and I am forced to simply accept it.
natalydelrey its been happening to a lot of console players lately especially the crashing when saving i too play on ps5 and haven't been able to play for ages i do feel console players get forgotten all the time like were a minority i reached out to ea via email and they told me they were working on a fix so we'll see but tbh i won't hold my breath
