The Sims 4 - Update on Supported Systems
UPDATE: The Sims 4 Legacy Edition is available now. Please, see the updated FAQ below for more information. ________ Dear Simmers, Today we are announcing some changes to the supported specifications for The Sims 4™ on PC and Mac. Later this year, we will no longer support The Sims 4 on Non-Metal Mac OS machines or PC 32-bit Operating Systems. Apple has announced plans to phase out support for graphics processing technology called OpenGL and will be moving to a new technology known as Metal. Due to this change, we will upgrade The Sims 4 to work with Metal. For those that cannot upgrade to a Metal supporting OS, The Sims 4™: Legacy Edition will be made available to you. Please see the FAQ below. This update will also retire support for 32-bit Operating Systems. We regularly evaluate our technologies, and to continue growing, improving, and optimizing the game, we have made the decision to retire 32-bit support. If you are a PC player who cannot update to a 64-bit OS, The Sims 4: Legacy Edition will be made available to you. Please see FAQ below. We want to thank all Simmers who have played or are still playing The Sims 4.Solved5MViews1693likes4CommentsSession expired
Hi, I haven't been able to login for 24 hours now. I've deleted the cache, deleted the game and reinstalled 10 times but it keeps telling me the session is expired and I need to reload. After the reload, the same issue. I've also tried a possible solution provided as playing as a guest and finishing the tutorial and after that importing your real account. Gives me the same session expired BS. This is taking too long and is really annoying. I'm going to miss out on a full day of daily rewards and energy... Would really like a solution and compensation. Thanks in advance. Player: Ebje3.7KViews82likes132CommentsFeedback: Release "Wedding Stories" in Russia
Hey! So, I've just found out EA decided not to release Wedding Stories in Russian region since we have this anti LGBT law, about "juvenile propaganda". I just want to remind you, EA, that this theme is in game since the very first game. And you've been releasing DLCs with same-sex couples here, I saw them, my Sims talked to them, their descriptions are translated correct — no hidings. We've got those free updates with LGBT-themed clothings and stuff. It was after the law was implemented. Moreover, the game is 18+ here. What has changed? What. Has. Changed? Guys, I'm sorry if I'm writing in the wrong place. I'm just shocked right now. Like deeply.Solved4.8KViews66likes51Comments[CURRENT ISSUE] Codes instead of text/ Blank text and bubbles
Update 2023/07/20 There currently seems to be issues for Horse Ranch and Steam. Please head over to this post if you are on Steam: [STEAM] [HR] Missing Text Strings Update 19.6.2022 This issue can also be caused by BBB (Better Build Buy). If you are using this mod, make sure to head over to TwistedMexis Patron and get the newest version. For more information see this: [MOD RELATED] Werewolf text not showing up on aspiration, other pack errors Problem My game is either full of codes instead of texts or text bubbles are just empty Cause This issue is caused by a missing string file (Installation Folder). For some odd reason Origin/EA app refuses to download the needed Language String file for the pack. Each pack has a folder in the Installation folder (Standard: c:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4 and each of the pack folder should contain a language file (for example: Strings_ENG_US.package) for the language you have switched to. This doesn't seem to be the case for everyone resulting in empty Strings for *Debug" strings in the game. There's also a folder called Delta that has a folder for each pack as well. That folder also contains the language files and it looks like the files are always getting downloaded there with no problems. Problem is that unless there was a patch after the pack release, there's no folder in Detla for that specific pack (which is normal) So this problem should fix itself once a patch is released cause the game then starts looking for the string file in the delta folder and not the initial one. This is of course very undesirable if you want to play the game when it comes out. I'm still looking for reliable solutions but meanwhile you can try the ones outlined below. They seem to be less and less efficient. Solutions If you just have them missing on notifications, it's most likely an incompatible mod. Make sure your mods are updated, especially if you use any UI Mods. Before trying the methods below, try repairing the game. To do so, right click on the game in Origin and hit repair game. Make sure to set EA app to the same language as you want the game to be in. EDIT: Some languages are missing strings for cheats. If it's an issue of missing strings for cheats only, then that's a bug. Please post in the thread for your language (for unlisted languages, create a new thread in the englisch bug forum: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/bd-p/The-Sims-4-Bugs: English, Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Spanish Edit: None of the solutions work with EA Desktop currently. EA Desktop is BETA software and it's not a problem to have both Origin and EA Desktop alongside. You can't run them at the same time but if you need to do something that EA Desktop is not able to do yet, just start Origin instead. Method 1 Repair the game through EA app/Origin (Mac) Change the language to something other than what it's now and let the game repair itself --> This will currently only work for Mac as EA app doesn't let you change the language. Change the language back to your Original one Method 2 Backup your user files Delete the following file from your hard drive: <game_install_location>\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_x64.exe or just TS4_x64 if you have your extension hidden for known types (see pic below) By default on 64 bit Windows this will be located in: c:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_64.exe) There's also an exe file in Bin_LE that I also recommend to delete. That one is called TS4 or TS4.exe Delete TS4_DX9_x64.exe if you are using DX9 Go to the Origin “My Games” library The Sims 4 game tile will change from “Play” to “Download” Start the Download Origin may prompt you for what language to install in, if it does make sure to choose the same language you originally installed The Sims 4 in. Important Notes These steps are for PC only. Make sure your Origin client is set to the same language that it was set to when you originally installed The Sims 4. Make sure your Origin client “Downloaded Games” location (set via Advanced panel in Application Settings) is the same as when you originally installed The Sims 4. If these steps fail, it is recommended that you fully uninstall and reinstall The Sims 4 via Origin (see spoiler box below) Remove any mods you are using. This issue can also be caused by mods. Mac equivalent of TS4.exe In your Applications folder right click on the Sims 4 app and select Show Package Contents. Navigate to Contents > Mac OS. Right click on The Sims 4 and select Move to Trash. Don't drag the file as it will only move an alias and leave the original in place. Now open Origin, right click on The Sims 4 in your Games Library and click Repair Game. Feedback if this method works is appreciated!! Source: EA Method 3 If you have another windows or mac computer in your household (doesn't matter if it matches the specs), download the game on that computer oder download them from the link provided by SimQARobo in this post: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Codes-instead-of-text-Blank-text-and-bubbles/m-p/10042760#M207471 Navigate to the installation folder and the pack which strings you are missing Check if the string file got downloaded. If so, copy it to a memory stick Copy the file from the memory stick to the correct folder on your usual computer Language files can be found here (the files can differ in name, depending on your language) Base Game: C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Data\Client\Strings_ENG_US.package Get To Work: C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Delta\EP01\ Strings_ENG_US.package Outdoor Retreat: C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Delta\GP01\ Strings_ENG_US.package ..Solved254KViews64likes1156Comments[FAQ] Sims 4 Buy a Bundle: Windows and macOS
Overview jump to: Availability jump to: How to bundle For those playing Sims 4 in Windows or macOS, EA allows players to customize and buy a bundle of DLC at a discount over the packs' individual prices. The bundle must consist of one expansion, one game pack, and one stuff pack, all currently eligible for bundling (see below) and unowned by the player. Kits are not included at this time. If you own all eligible packs in one category, you won't be able to create a bundle. Console players do not have the ability to bundle at this time. I had just started Dragon Age the Veilguard and was experiencing some lag at the ritual site. I changed a couple graphics settings and restated the game and when I tried to load my save I encountered this problem. Restarting my PC did not solve the issue. The graphics settings were changing: lighting quality to medium, the terrain quality setting to medium and the terrain decoration setting to medium from high. What is your EA ID or Console ID (PSN ID/Gamertag)? lilllilly123 What platform are you playing on? PC, Windows 11, Steam What is happening? (and what do you expect to happen instead?) Expecting a save to load, it is not. Does this happen in a specific area of the game? hard to say, none of the saves are loading before that area but before changing the graphics settings there was no reason to load a previous save. I made a new character, all the same settings, and when I tried to load one of those saves from the main menu I found that that save would load, however the character loaded without hair even after the train textures had generated. Please share any steps you've tried so far to resolve the issue: Restarted the game, restarted steam, tried to load a different save, restarted PC, tried loading from a different character If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip... As a note this is the least helpful error message I have ever seen. If on PC, please share a DxDiag file and an EA app Error ID Number The error does not give me access to either of these.SolvedThe Sims 4 - Where to Safely Buy Expansions, Game Packs, Kits and More.
Sul sul, Simmers! Have you ever wondered which stores are trusted PC digital online retailers? Well, we've put together an article on Help.ea.com covering everything from officially supported 3rd party retailers in various regions, what can happen if you purchase content from unauthorized retailers, as well as limitations on support if you purchased your game content elsewhere. We want you to play and enjoy our games, but we also want to protect your account and personal information from bad actors. Are you thinking about pre ordering Sims content? Then this pertains to you: Purchasing your Sims content early to grab an exclusive promotional item is commonplace, but if you purchase that content via an unauthorized 3rd party, we won't be able to assist you if you don't receive that promotional content. Buying content for your games from shady sites carries risks: At best, you might get the wrong product or language version of a game you buy. At worst, unauthorized websites may be phishing for your EA Account or payment info. This can result in losing access to your account, or fraudulent activity with your payment details. It’s also possible that unauthorized retailers will sell you a fake, used, or stolen CD key or Product Code. Additionally, any illegally obtained games and Product Codes will be disabled by us. That means you won’t be able to play your game or redeem your virtual currencies, and we won’t be able to help you. So do yourself a favor, avoid the headache and check our list of approved retailers before you buy. Thanks!9.2KViews44likes0Comments
