FC 26: Routing through USA causes 1000 ms ping spikes
Hello EA team, I am experiencing severe latency and lag issues in EA Sports FC 26 caused by incorrect network routing on your side. My internet provider is Deutsche Telekom (Germany). As the attached traceroute clearly shows, my connection is being routed through France (Zayo) and then to Ashburn, Virginia (USA) instead of reaching a European server like Frankfurt or Amsterdam, which would normally provide stable and low latency connections. This results in massive ping spikes, sometimes reaching up to 1000 ms, making the game literally unplayable. These spikes cause heavy input delay, laggy animations, and frequent desyncs during matches. While players on other ISPs in Germany such as Vodafone or 1&1 have stable 20–30 ms connections, Telekom users are forced through an inefficient transatlantic route. The issue occurs at all times of the day and is not related to peak traffic or local congestion. It is also not caused by my connection. Other online titles such as Battlefield 6, Apex Legends, Warzone and others run perfectly fine on the same network with low latency and no spikes. This issue is exclusive to EA Sports FC 26, which clearly indicates a routing or server allocation problem specific to this game. This problem is not new. Telekom users and EA players have been reporting the same issue for years. Unfortunately, the response has always been generic troubleshooting like restarting the router or checking the connection, which does not address the real routing problem. Details: Provider: Deutsche Telekom (Germany) Affected EA server: 159.153.71.17 (Ashburn, USA) Observed route: Telekom → Zayo (France) → Level3 → USA Expected route: EU nodes such as Amsterdam or Frankfurt (CDN77 or EA EU POP) Actual route: Forced routing to US East Coast (Ashburn, VA) This issue is reproducible and affects a large number of Telekom customers in Germany. It is also not limited to Telekom. Players from other countries and ISPs including the Netherlands, France, the UK and Scandinavia are reporting the exact same routing behavior to Ashburn, USA. This proves the problem lies on EA’s side or with its peering strategy, not with individual ISPs. I kindly ask that this case is escalated directly to EA’s network or infrastructure team, not closed with Tier 1 support replies. Please provide a ticket or case ID so this can be tracked and referenced properly. EA has publicly promised improved server infrastructure and better connectivity for FC 26 in Europe. What we are experiencing, however, is the complete opposite. Routing EU players through the US creates extreme latency spikes and gives other players an unfair advantage. This is unacceptable for a competitive online game. If this is caused by peering decisions with transit providers such as Zayo or Level3, this must be reviewed and corrected as soon as possible. This issue has already been discussed on Reddit, X (Twitter) and several ISP forums across Europe. Many players are affected. If it is not addressed properly, we will continue to document and escalate it publicly to gather more affected users. We need EA to review its server allocation and routing policy for European customers and ensure proper EU peering or reassign affected accounts to EU datacenters. Me and my pro clubs team "Varna mechki" have been utterly disrespected by our goalkeeper this little **bleep** has been running to the center every fukcing game we have played and that has led to the other teams cb wich has brain damage to score bangers on our goal one after another!!! No one moves the keeper this **bleep** for brains decides to go to the center on its own mind. Which has led to me and my team getting severe brain damage. I've been suffering a great input delay specially in online, the connection is good and I can see the ping and it is acceptable so it's not about network. It goes away temporarely if I pause ( emphasizing more the fact that it's not a network issue), or if I set the max fps to 30 fps. Which is really really a horrible gaming experience. I have bought this game, more specifically a code to ea app a week ago. I have noticed the problem immidiatly. After pretty much every single squad battles game before saying how much coins i earned my game says it disconnected with ea servers. I have been able to get rewards in 4 out of i think 17 games of squad battles i have played. Same issue occured while playing rivals but it died down a bit, but with squad battles out of 8 games today i got rewards and objectives proggres from one, having played all 8 of them to the end and winning all of them with a normal i would say score. I have tried restarting router, changing DNS repairing game and every single thing it says to do on ea/unable-to-connect. NOTHING WORKS. I bouhght a very expensive game and i cannot get any rewards from my games because after logging back up it says i forfrieted 0-3 even though i won. Is there any way to fix this issue? small issue but it's infuriating considering we paid money for the game and some of us only play Franchise and use Teambuilder as a way to have a custom franchise. The helmet banners and chinstraps are appearing chrome/black in game instead of white (or any other color you choose) that it shows in Teambuilder. It even shows correctly in the preview in Download Center in game, but when you download the team and start a franchise, then play a game or view players in Adjust Lineup, the chinstraps and banners are chrome/black. It takes away from what our team is supposed to be. In Madden 25, the chinstraps and banners would automatically default to the color of your helmet. Initially in M26, it was working fine and no issues, but just in the past week this glitch has surfaced, PLEASE FIX OR I WILL NEVER PURCHASE MADDEN AGAIN UNTIL EA Loses the rights. It's ridiculous, .I'm so tired of being patient with this nonsense. Get TEAMbuilder right or remove it altogether. It's not fair to your customers and we're tired of the constant glitches. You also need to add more features like shoulder stripes (think NE Patriots, LSU tigers, etc.), sock stripes (Think Browns, etc.), and fix the sock issue (I make the undersocks blue and base white, ONLY one color shows up). What's the point of having the sock option in customization with no sock, low, med, high when it ALWAYS defaults to one style for the WHOLE TEAM. It's ridiculous. (On PS5) At least in World of CHEL (3on3), evidently as the player taking a faceoff, you can currently hit the opposing faceoff taker immediately off of faceoffs and get absolutely nothing. And you bet your cheeks every mental 5 year-old **bleep** is abusing this as much as they possibly can! This HAS TO be a penalty shot (or penalty) every single time! It ruins the game if this continues to be a thing! And yes, this definitely amounts to a bug, glitch or technical error.
