Road to CFP is truly a grind lacking fun
Whelp... You would think that playing your first Road to CFP National Championship Game EA would at least make that matchup fair.....🤣 Who am I kidding....they don't want people winning and having fun in this game. Its about the grind. Played my first Natty game here's how it went. Played a Texas user that already had won a Natty Down 28-7 in the 2nd quarter. Dude was clearly way better then me. With 2 pick 6's. One was a tip rebound pick 6. I had a receiver open for a touchdown on a in route...I tap throw it and instead of RAC catching the animation did this dive catch(the play after was the second pick 6) Matchmaking took almost 2 mins to "match" me with someone. What does this tell me.... Road to CFP matchmaking seem to be fix. EA continues to stack the CFP with the top Tier 1 teams and no one else. The 2 mins waiting for matchmaking clearly shows me (just like in 26) available matches are being filtered out so that the CFP feels hard and stacked with the top teams in the game. I am clearly not good enough to compete for Nattys (even on Freshman). The joy of 25 is long gone, 26 was meh and 27 is hard as hell to win a Natty. Well done EA! EA_Shepard This is just an honest opinion of the state of this mode so far....its hard, brutally hard.Previous Plays removed
I noticed that the Previous Plays screen was removed from Road to the College Football Playoff last week. I understand that it may have been causing an input conflict because it used the same right-stick direction as formation shifts, but removing the feature entirely is a major step backward. Being able to review previous offensive and defensive play calls is important in a competitive mode. It helps players identify tendencies, make adjustments, and understand what happened on the previous snap. That information is far more useful during gameplay than having multiple right-stick inputs dedicated to viewing objectives. Please bring the Previous Plays feature back and resolve the input conflict instead of removing it. One possible solution would be to use right-stick up and down to cycle between the objectives and Previous Plays screens, while leaving right-stick left and right available for formation shifts. Road to the College Football Playoff should give players access to the information needed to make strategic adjustments. Removing Previous Plays makes the mode less competitive and less enjoyable.Matchmaking ISSUE!
I enjoy playing as tier 3 teams and below, yet I constantly play nothing but tier 1 teams now after the update. This matchmaking issue even ruined my playoffs, as I was a tier 3 playing a tier 1. Playoffs need to be tier locked! I'm not even playing the requested tiers anymore, as matchmaking always pairs me with tier 1 teams constantly. This matchmaking issue has taken the fun out of RTTCFP for me and I won't play until it's fixed. What's the point of playing with lower tier teams if you get punished for doing so? Grind in the regular season with lower tier team, all to face tier 1 cheesers in the playoffs. This needs to be fixed, because there is no desire to play with current matchmaking.Road to CFP Beginners Guide
Hey guy, College Football 27 will be here soon and I have seen enough potential to give the game one more year. I will once again play Road to CFP exclusive and I will again put together a guide for how to navigate this years madness know as the Road to CFP. As we head into 27 here are 3 things I expect: Winning a Natty will be even harder! With over 5000 games on this mode since the series relauched, I've only won a total of 15 Nattys. Some may say the suck but playing straight up and not cheesing you way to a title is so hard. I dont expect that to change in 27 Selecting Any Tier will once again match you up with the Top Tier 1 teams in the game. I fully expect to see a ton of LSU, Ohio State and Penn State early. Lastly, I truly expect the game mode to play worse then the past few year. EA has yet to address many of the glitchy play and AI since college football 25. I hope I am wrong but the way I have see the game play the past few days tell me we could be in for a long year. PS....If youve played Road to CFP in the past week or so on 26, youre already playing college football 27. They have been testing 27 code in 26!Ranking points and Championships wiped
My record online was 95-0 and i was ranked right around 1000 overall. I played and won my 96th game and once i returned to the lobby, all my ranking points and championships were reset and my rank went from around 1000 to 230k. My record and stats are still intact, the only thing that was erased was my ranking points and championships. WTF EA. please help me fix this.Road to CFP Pros and Cons
Pros. Saved depth charts (finally) carrying over into games. Thank you. Proper defensive playbooks. Past issue where you'd be practicing with one defensive playbook, but being forced to run a generic 4-2-5 in Road to CFP mode. Thank you for fixing this. Cons Kickoff time changes are working. No matter what time you set it to, kickoff will ALWAYS be 12 o'clock high. Needs to be addressed. This mode NEEEEEEDS weather. We're not even given the option to set weather. With Dynamic weather being an advertised feature. Leaving off this mode makes ZERO sense. Incentivize using lower Tiered teams. Haven't seen any evidence that you get more points for the playoffs when you win with lower Tiered teams, nor getting hit harder when you lose with a higher tiered team vs a lower one. What's gonna happen late in the football year is you'll end up seeing the SAME 4-5 teams. Cassie there's nothing to disway them. That's all I've got for now. So I learned recently that I can’t just change playbooks because I was just using UGA’s. I want to use the 425 man pressure book. So I found out that I had to complete objectives to use that playbook. I completed Buffalo’s “Win 10 games” to unlock this book and when I did it the objective said 4-3 Defense. I thought maybe it was a glitch so I went in game to use it and it definitely wasn’t the 425-man pressure defense.Add Tennessee's Dark Mode & Smokey Gray uniforms to Road to the CFP 9/3
Tennessee needs the Dark Mode uniforms and upcoming Smokey Grays added to Road to the CFP. Other powerhouse programs like Oregon feature multiple uniform combinations available in competitive online modes. Tennessee deserves that same standard of authenticity and uniform variety in Road to the CFP. Suggested Fix: If uniform slot limits are an issue, the solution is simple: Replace the obsolete Orange Helmet option: Tennessee hasn't worn the orange helmet look with current jerseys since 2022. Swap in the Alternates: Use that slot to bring the Dark Mode threads into Road to the CFP, and integrate the Smokey Grays through standard updates. Fixing this gives fans the modern rotation actually worn on game days for online play. As of 9/3 these are still not usable in Road To The CFP.

I hope that we can post more than just gripes about the game in these threads. I think the EA forum is the most professional of all the forums out there and it would be great if we could have more discussions and sharing. I'll start by posting three highlights from the last weekend. First one. This run was amazing. No one touched my HB. Even though he was in a pile, and he kept going. Awesome run for TD (18 sec.) I lost this game, but I thought I had it. Unfortunately, I just got a bad animation. Maybe I needed to pass lead better? Still working on that. Tough loss on last play of the game (8 sec.) This one. I admit I should have lost and I did. But wow, I thought I had it. Unbelievable ending, almost won, but lost on last play (29 sec.)Ohio State Black uniforms
Ohio state’s black uniforms are broken, whenever I select these uniforms for home games in Road to the CFP online no matter what time I select for kickoff it puts me in the standard home uniforms. The all red and all gray alternate home uniforms work just the all black uniforms are broken.
