Re: Why is The Sims 4 running super slow on my Mac?

@demmustache66  Did you transfer your entire TS4 game folder, or only your Saves and Mods folders?  You could have brought some corruption from your old computer, or even just some old cache files that could be deleted.  You also might have some out-of-date custom content.

The easiest thing to do is to test the game with an entirely clean game folder.  Pull your existing one out of Documents and onto your desktop, and a clean folder will spawn the next time you launch the game.  If it runs smoothly in the clean folder, try moving some of your cc into it from your old folder and see whether that makes a difference.  You can test out your cc in batches to make sure it's not the issue; if everything works, you can copy one of your saves into the new folder and test that too.  Any batch of cc that slows down your game needs to be split and tested until you identify the problem file(s).

With a newish macbook pro, you should probably be able to run the game on high graphics settings, but it might be worth testing to see if lowering some of them changes anything.

If the game runs slowly and glitches even in a clean folder, please post your macs specs here, as described in the following post.  (There are a few different models you could have.)  Please also list the packs you have installed.
