That's interesting, so it seems to be the Store content patches that may be responsible for the disc error issues? That would make sense - the game is installed under your administrator account and the subsequent accounts you make are using the same install but have new user data folders in the Documents folders, that's why they are prompting for the store patches.
Do you have Showtime installed? Showtime and Macs don't play well. I had to uninstall it from my Mac and request a refund from EA because it made my game completely unplayable. I'm trawling through all my posts from years ago to try and help find a solution for you, hence the seemingly sporadic suggestions 🙂
So to clarify, you have the game installed through Origin now? or at least, your latest EP is digital through Origin? If so, in the newest user account you have set up, can you download and install the digital super patch again and apply it? You can find the link to the patch in my signature below.
