Re: ERROR CODE 0

@kimberlygmejia

System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files & Folders make sure the game has access to your Documents folder.

If you have any antivirus or blocking software running make sure it is not interfering with the game needing access to the Sims 4 folder.

    Hi!

    Sorry for writing about this years later. This error started for me today, out of nowhere, on my MacBook. I uninstalled my Antivirus to see if that helped, cleaned my cache and deleted temp save files, but it didn't work.

    So I tried the suggestion you said about folders, but when I go to "Files & Folders", there is no mention at all of The Sims or EA, so I can't give them access.

    Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Temp save files? What are those?

    Could you post a screenshot from System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files & Folders?

    Which version of macOS are you running?

    Yeah, it's a bit of a regular bug at the moment and doesn't seem like it's simply permissions ☹️ I was testing a save yesterday with it but did manage to save at the map screen. Can you do that with this one particular save you're having issues with?

    You should be able to add The Sims 4 to Files & Folders by clicking the +

    Did you click on the lock to unlock and enter your password when prompted? Is your Mac account an Administrator account or Standard?

    @Bluebellflora Yes, but it didn't work. However, I checked online and someone said I should first add the program to "Full disc access" (not sure if that's the correct English name for it, I'm Swedish) and then I will be able to add it to folders, so I did and it worked. Sadly, the error message still comes up. ☹️

    @Bluebellflora By the way, this is what it looks like now, after adding The Sims and EA to "full disc access", so they are there, but I can't add any folders. So odd.

    Yeah, Full Disk Access is the nuclear option and grants apps access to everything. It shouldn't be necessary but for some reason EA think it is.

    I think your issue is the wider problem with this error code 0 bug. Can you click the Me Too button in the opening post in the bug report? I'm going to lock this thread to avoid any confusion with the ongoing issue. Sorry we couldn't fix it with permissions ☹️
