@AshleaNM-_-  Can you please explain the issue you are having? When are the freezes happening? What kind of freezes are you seeing? Is the game freezing? Are the sims freezing? A little clarity will go a long way into helping you find resolution.

    @PoptartJuniper The Sims freeze for long periods of time, the game time acts like it's in speed 1 when it's in speed 2/3, the game starts glitching all over the place, and then sometimes they all combine and freeze the entire game to the point of having to close the application, therefore losing everything I've done. It's been like that since I got it and genuinely looks and feels like I'm playing it on my laptop that doesn't have a supported graphics card. Seeing as there are no graphics settings, if the problem is that it's not supported on Slim (though they said all ps4s are the same and there's no reason to have settings for that) then I have completely wasted my money (over $100 I could've used for other things) Sure, I could handle a little lag here and there, but it's unplayable if I'm trying to actually PLAY the game. I have so many other games that run perfectly and require more power than The Sims 4, yet here we are.

    @AshleaNM-_-  Does this lag and freezing happen for all households or only one? Does the freezing and ai delay issues persist in a brand new save?

    @PoptartJuniper I recently started playing again. The first household i tried out was 4 sims (1 of which was a dog if that changes anything at all) in a medium sized house with a lot of decor. It was SO bad with that household so I gave up and made a single sim in a super basic house with only the bare necessities. The same thing happened with all the stuttering and lag. So I restarted the game and made a new save with a couple in a starter house, again with only the basics and it worked fine for maybe 10 minutes before that started failing as well. It does get much worse with "bigger" families/houses but even without, it's roughhhhh. I understand when it's like that on my PC(that can't even run Google chrome without freezing) but on my console it just bugs me to no end.

    @AshleaNM-_-  Can you please check to see that your console and game is completely up to date. Please check manually, the auto update on PS4 is not always reliable. 

    Make sure your game is up to date. 

    • Go to the PlayStation home screen. 
    • Highlight the game you're playing and press the Options button on your controller.
    • Select "Check For Update" and install any updates that are available.
    • Restart the Console completely.

    Make sure your Console system software is up to date. PS4 has had two updates in December

    • Select Settings at the top of the PlayStation home screen.
    • Choose "System Software Update" and allow any system updates to install.
    • Reboot your PlayStation 4.

    @AshleaNM-_-  Great! Have you fully shut down your console recently? Powered it off completely for several minutes or even the night? Several minutes is plenty but I power mine down at night every few days. 

    Is your console getting enough ventilation? Is it getting too hot?

    Is your hard drive very full? Clearing some space can help all your games.

    @PoptartJuniper Actually I completely turned it off over night last night!

    The only time it's ever really gotten too hot was during the summer when my room became a sauna 😂

    And I have a 500gb drive that's between 1/2 - 3/4 full, but I'm constantly switching out the games I play so that always changes lol.

    I honestly think adding some graphic settings in-game would make such an amazing difference in the amount of stuttering the game does, seeing as it acts like it would on PC when comparing high end specs to low end specs. I have watched videos of people playing on their PS4 Pros and it ran flawlessly. I'm just disappointed that I don't get the same smooth gameplay that they do. If it's some kind of bug, I hope it gets resolved, and if it's just a matter of cheapest PS4 to most expensive PS4, I hope there is a future update that adds in more variety in settings/options. Maybe after that gallery update 👀

    @AshleaNM-_-  my console has the same specs as yours. I do not have a pro, and it's getting fairly old at this point. I can absolutely tell this game was not made for console and is ported. There is a big difference in how the games ported and the games made for console behave, however I do not have unplayable lag or freezing. I can say I have one household in one save that is so laggy I can't play it. They live in Brindleton Bay and the delay and ai lag is unbelievably bad. I actually shared that save with the bug team. My current save is very old, I am almost done with the 26 gen achievement and I have not had the issues I had with that other save. 

    You said you haven't played in a long time, did you try uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it? A big pain, but sometimes it can correct any file errors that could be causing trouble in your game. 

    There is this thread I can direct you to read over and see if there's some tips or things you haven't tried yet. It mostly covers AI delays and simulation lag which you seem to be experiencing. You can read it here
