- @Bluebellflora Thank you so much for the response. I have reset my SMC, but it still is running very loud. I know the fan runs loud, but it after this recent patch it just seems to be working even harder or something.

Try a new clean vanilla game, does it still happen? https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163 Hi, okay so I tried that today and the issue is still there. I also tried a repair to the game and also did an SMC reset to see if that would fix it but to no avail it didn't. It started to happen with this recent update for Growing Together. I don't know what is in the patch, but my Mac does not like it.
Please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162
Hi, okay heres the info about my Mac.

Thanks. The specs are really low for running the game, do you have all in-game graphics options on the lowest possible settings? The pre-Growing Together patch was the biggest ever update for the game. Adding the new lifestage in has probably caused your Mac to struggle a little more to run the game.
You could take the bottom off your model Mac (your model was one of the last user serviceable ones) and blow some compressed air over the fan to clear out 11 years worth of dust and debris, that may help with the cooling efficiency. But only if you feel comfortable doing so. Thank you for that! I didn't put into consideration it may have been due to the patch being so big and adding so much. I have certain settings set to high, I definitely will play around with the settings and see which one works best for my Mac. 😃
Yes, you are right. I will do that when I get a chance it may be time for a good fan cleaning as well. I haven't done it since 2021, so it may be time to get cleaned out.
One more thing, my Mac beeps once the game actually starts and I see my Sims. That's the only time it does this is that normal?
I figured out what the beep was, it was just the radio starting up when I first boot up the game. I also got my fan to quiet down and the game works fine. I played around with a couple of settings and I can play without worrying about my computer taking off into orbit. Thank you so much!!! :-)
